Gaelic Uprising: Ambush
The year is 113AD and Caesar Divi Nervae Filius Nerva Traianus Optimus rules in Rome. Across the empire legions move as war rages in the east but on the frontiers of Gaul unrest is spreading. Ever in struggle to free themselves from roman occupation the Tricssess tribe in the north east seizes the opportunity. Cathirix, chief of the Tricssess gathers his strongest men and marches forward to war.
Marcus Pompeius Macrinus Neos Theophanes, Legate of Legio VI Victrix has been tasked with the defense of the frontier. Having dispersed the Legion across the region his forces are spread thin leaving mere centuria to guard hundreds of miles of frontier.
Mid morning, as the legionaries of the 2nd Cohort’s 5th century march in column following the river several warbands of Gauls appear on the eastern horizon. Before the centurion, Cassius Velius, can even call an order Gaelic skirmishers emerge from the trees to the column’s rear, ready to strike.
Take command of the Roman Legionaries as the centurion Cassius Velius and organize your defense or lead the onslaught of Gaelic freedom fighters under Chief Cathirix.
